Sherry Burnett
Art Instructor/Owner
Sherry Burnett is a fine artist and instructor. Her passion and emotion for art is realized through the 'Flower series', her latest body of work. Sherry has won awards, been juried into art shows and her works are displayed locally.
Big shoe box full of crayons, drawing pads, pencils, sketching my grandfather at the kitchen table, doodling in my school notebooks – these are my young childhood art memories. I have received numerous recognitions for my artistic talents during my school years, and during the summers I would take art classes.
After making a tough decision to not formally study art, I attended college for a degree in electrical engineering. While at Georgia Tech, I kept my interest in art by enrolling in life drawing classes and art appreciation at the School of Architecture. The life drawing instructor encouraged me to continue but engineering studies took up most of my energies.
Art was on the back burner while starting a new job and new family with several relocations from Georgia to Texas, then Colorado and last a big move overseas to The Netherlands. The three years overseas gave me the opportunity to visit various art museums -The Van Gogh Museum and The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and The Louvre in Paris. This kept my love for art alive.
Since returning from overseas and settling in NH, I have been able to rekindle my study of art. My love of the outdoors and the New England landscapes is the subject of most of my paintings.
Jessica Millis
Art Instructor
Jessica Millis has recently moved to this area from the downeast region of Maine, where she was teaching private art lessons for the past five years. She has studied art in Belgium and France, and has a BFA and MFA from the University of Utah in fine art, with an emphasis in painting and drawing. She has also worked as an illustrator and loves to dabble in ceramic sculpture. She believes regardless of age or ability, we can all learn and progress as artists if we continue to work at it find joy in the creative process. She has taught all ages, and is extremely excited to be teaching the fine art class for adults/teens on Tuesday evenings.
Tim Smyth
Stop Motion Film Instructor
Instructor Tim Smyth grew up, (well sort of) in Haverhill, MA.
Inspired by the film “King Kong”, he started making films, and
animations in 1975 while in the 8’th grade, and hasn’t stopped
since.
As a professional stop motion animator he has animated on such
TV shows “Celebrity Deathmatch”, “The PJ’s”, “Blake Shelton’s
Not So Family Christmas Special”, “ A Very Pentatonix
Christmas”, and more.
