Never painted outdoors or have tried but find it too overwhelming, join us for an immersive experience on how to get what you see outside onto paper/canvas. And why it is important to your artwork to study directly from nature. En plein air (French for "outdoors") is the practice of painting landscapes directly on-site to capture immediate, natural light and atmosphere. Popularized by Impressionists and enabled by portable paint tubes in the 1870s, this method focuses on rapid, alla prima(one-sitting) techniques. The workshop will be at the home of Jerie Artz at The Artz Marsh behind her home. Supply list will be emailed to participants. Potluck lunch-Bring a lunch to share!
